Second opinion on your treatment and cost plan

Do you have a cost plan for implants, dental prosthetics or a larger restoration and want to be sure before you sign? We will take a look at it. Honestly, even if in the end we say: the plan is good, stay where you are.

A second opinion is your right and is common for larger treatments. It does not mean that your current practice is doing anything wrong. It means that you are making a decision with a second pair of eyes.

What we check

  • Items and scope: Does the plan match the findings? Is anything duplicated or missing, and is there a gentler sequence?
  • Alternatives: Implant, bridge, denture or preserving the tooth. We show the options side by side, with advantages and disadvantages.
  • Subsidies and reimbursement: Has the fixed subsidy been applied correctly, has the bonus booklet been taken into account, and what will a supplementary insurance cover?
  • Material and laboratory: Where does the restoration come from, which material, what guarantee?

How it works

  1. Upload your cost planAs a PDF or photo, at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, simply bring it with you to the appointment.
  2. Call-back within two working daysOur reception team gets in touch, clarifies any questions and arranges an appointment.
  3. Appointment with our own examinationA second opinion requires a look in the mouth and usually a current X-ray. Please bring any existing images with you, so that we can avoid additional radiation exposure.
  4. Our assessment, in writingYou receive our evaluation of the plan and, if you wish, our own treatment and cost plan for comparison.

What the second opinion costs

We charge the examination and consultation as a normal dental service, for patients with statutory health insurance via the insurance card. An additional X-ray or 3D scan is only taken if it is necessary for the assessment, and is discussed beforehand.

Good to know

The second opinion is independent of where you later choose to be treated. If you decide in favour of us, our own treatment and cost plan applies; our prices and out-of-pocket amounts are published openly on this website. How a private invoice is calculated is explained on the page about the German fee schedule for dentists (GOZ).

Partner Programme – Straumann Group

Immediacy Center of Excellence

The “Immediacy Center of Excellence” is a programme run by the Straumann Group, a global manufacturer of dental implant systems. Practices can take part if they can demonstrate documented case numbers in immediate implant placement (“Immediacy”), regular further training, and a digital planning and manufacturing workflow using the manufacturer's products. Our practice has been a partner practice in this programme since January 2025. Participation is a manufacturer partnership and not an independent certification.

With more than 10,000 members, the DGI (German Society of Implantology) is the largest scientific professional association for implantology in Europe. As a member, Dr. Strößner commits to following the DGI guidelines, pursuing continuous, structured continuing education, and actively exchanging views with colleagues in professional discourse. Membership reflects the aspiration to practise implantology in line with the current state of scientific knowledge. Dr. Strößner has also completed the DGI/APW Curriculum in Implantology and the Master of Science in Oral Implantology and Periodontology (Steinbeis-Hochschule, in cooperation with the DGI).

What “by arrangement” means

On Saturdays we treat by prior arrangement — specifically for matters that need a long, uninterrupted block of time: implant placements, larger surgical procedures, extensive dental prosthetics, treatment under sedation or general anaesthesia, and appointments for patients who travel a longer distance and would like to have everything done in one day.

For short matters — a polish, a check-up, having a filling looked at — we will find an appointment together during the week. That is usually quicker for you as well.
