We carry out the treatment using modern ultrasound technology (an ultrasonic scaler).
The advantage:The tip of the instrument vibrates at ultrasonic speed. The ultrasonic scaler leaves a smooth, clean surface. This makes it harder for new plaque to build up.

Step by Step
Keep scrolling: the model shows how plaque triggers inflammation, why the bone recedes and what treatment does about it.

Healthy: the bone reaches to just below the neck of the tooth.

Tartar builds up at the gum line, including below the gums. The gums become inflamed, turn red and bleed slightly.

Early periodontitis: first pockets, the bone edge is receding.

As periodontitis progresses, the bone keeps breaking down. The tooth loosens. This is exactly where periodontal treatment comes in.

During treatment we remove plaque and tartar below the gum as well and smooth the root surfaces. This allows the inflammation to subside.

Lost bone does not usually grow back on its own. That makes what remains all the more important: in aftercare we check and clean at fixed intervals.
